CardReader Inc., dba Electronic Document Technology is
the developer of leading edge Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and
business card reading technologies and applications. Established in 1992
as a development center for OCR technology, the company has developed
and released several versions of its OCR and Business Card Reading
products to the market.
BizCardReader
- A business card reader application that scans, reads and stores
business cards into the computer. It saves a scanned image of the card
and automatically reads the card contents into a database. The user can
view and retrieve any card easily, and print mailing labels and contact
information from the database.
WinOCR
- A multilingual OCR software package that recognizes English
and nine other European languages. It is a full featured OCR package
that includes scanning from any TWAIN compliant scanner, automatic
zoning, dictionary and spell-checking capabilities. The product uses
EDT's proprietary OCR engine which is rated amongst the top in speed and
accuracy.
OCR
Developer's Toolkit - This toolkit enables third party software
developers to use EDT's Optical Character Recognition engine in their
applications. It contains a collection of libraries on the Windows
95/98/NT/2000/XP platforms which enable an application to perform OCR
and manipulate images.
Business
Card Reader Toolkit - This toolkit enables software
developers to use EDT's business card reading technology to read card
images, and automatically extract field information such as name,
company, title and address fields.
